As Head of Facility Management, you will drive the cost-efficient use and continuous availability of quality services and infrastructures, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and company safety standards. Your role will span five locations within the Gent Innovation Center where you will lead efforts to maintain excellence and drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Facility Management Strategy for infrastructure and services, aligning with business goals and growth projections.
  • Oversee mid and long-term planning, considering demands, resources, and budget proposals, while monitoring implementation, Capex budget, and inventory.
  • Manage Facility Management Teams in Astene & Zwijnaarde, optimizing workflows and team competencies to achieve synergies between sites.
  • Ensure excellent communication within the department and with internal customers.
  • Maintain a Facility Management Catalogue, setting priorities and improvement actions.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys to enhance service quality.
  • Supervise third-party contracts related to site facilities and services.
  • Act as Chairman of CPBW.
  • Collaborate with the QHSE Manager, Environmental Coordinator, and IT and Communications Department.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Industrial, Civil, or Bio Engineering
  • Min. 15 years of leadership experience in Utility and/or Facility Management
  • Strong background in complex, high-tech environments such as hospitals, labs, or the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and inspire teams, demonstrating unifying leadership
  • Strategic thinker with a clear vision, customer-oriented with experience in setting up and implementing SLAs
  • Proficient in planning and project management
  • Decisive and capable of handling resistance and setbacks
  • Financial acumen with experience in budget management, including Capex
  • Knowledge of or experience with social dialogue is a plus
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
