As a (Senior) Site IT Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring a reliable, secure and future ready IT environment for our BASF Agricultural Solutions entity in Belgium. You will oversee local IT operations, lead strategic IT projects and serve as the primary IT contact for site leadership and R&D teams at the different sites of BASF Agricultural Solutions Belgium (BASB). In this role, you will translate business needs into technical solutions, ensure seamless IT service delivery and contribute to the digital transformation of our research and operational environment.

Responsibilities

Local IT Operations:

  • Lead the local onsite IT support team, ensuring timely and effective workplace support, infrastructure maintenance and asset management.
  • Ensure system uptime and operational continuity of critical IT services.

Project Leadership:

  • Manage end‑to‑end delivery of BASB IT projects, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, execution, risk management and stakeholder communication.
  • Support partial IPO readiness.

Network & Infrastructure:

  • Design and lead the optimization and implementation of local and selected global network initiatives.
  • Ensure secure, stable and scalable network operations in line with BASF standards.
  • Safeguard availability and performance of essential IT systems and applications.

Cybersecurity:

  • Partner with the global BASF security organization to deploy and maintain cybersecurity controls.
  • Monitor compliance, support audits and lead local incident response and awareness initiatives

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary IT business partner for site management and R&D leadership, ensuring transparent communication on progress, risks and priorities.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to support adoption of new tools and ways of working.
  • Manage external IT service partners, ensuring contract adherence, service quality and timely delivery.

Governance & Reporting:

  • Provide regular updates to site leadership on IT project status, risks and mitigation measures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support governance and audit requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a scientific discipline with strong affinity for IT.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT project management within complex environments, ideally in chemical, agricultural or research‑driven industries.
  • Experience managing local or remote IT support teams.
  • Solid knowledge of network architecture, firewalls, cybersecurity frameworks and cloud technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, combined with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, service excellence and digital innovation.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch.
